16 years of industrial automation engineering in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dan Kowalski founded StableCore Systems in 2008 after eight years as a process control engineer at Emerson Process Management and before that at Anheuser-Busch's St. Louis facilities. He had spent a decade watching the industrial automation market in Missouri and the Midwest underserve the mid-market manufacturers who were the backbone of the regional economy.
The national systems integrators that served major industrial clients had the technical depth but not the local presence or responsiveness. The smaller local contractors had the presence but not the technical depth. The mid-market manufacturer — the $50M–$500M Missouri company with a serious automation need — fell between these options and consistently got either over-engineered solutions from national firms or under-qualified work from local electrical contractors who had learned enough to sell automation projects.
StableCore was designed to fill that gap specifically: Emerson-caliber engineering depth, St. Louis presence, and a service model that treated every client's system as the critical infrastructure it actually was. Sixteen years later, we have 42 engineers, 340+ active client sites, and a track record that speaks for itself.
Every decision at StableCore — from the platforms we support to the pricing we offer — is made by engineers, not salespeople. We will never recommend a technology or architecture that doesn't make technical sense for your specific application.
The best system StableCore can build you is a system you understand. Complete, accurate as-built documentation — P&IDs, schematics, network diagrams, code comments — is not optional on any StableCore project. We treat your documentation as the ultimate test of our engineering quality.
StableCore is a St. Louis company. Our reputation in this market is the foundation of our business. We will not cut corners, take shortcuts, or deliver work we are not proud to put our name on — because the people we're accountable to live in the same city we do.
OT cybersecurity is built into every system we engineer from the first line of architecture — not added as an afterthought when a customer asks. We follow IEC 62443 standards and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework as a baseline minimum on every project, regardless of scope.
In 16 years, StableCore has never delivered a project late due to engineering or project management failures. Scope changes happen, supply chain issues happen, customer delays happen — but those are exceptions we manage transparently, not excuses we hide behind.
When you call StableCore at 2AM because your process control system has faulted, a qualified engineer answers. Not a service desk, not a call center, not a voicemail. A StableCore engineer who knows your system and can help you fix it right now.
